Wise Marketing techniques to attract eBay buyers

You might have heard the success stories of eBay wholesalers who started selling simple products through eBay as a part time business and now their success have pushed them to make this hobby as their permanent trading source of living. On other hand, you might also have heard people who were unable to sell through eBay and complain about its features and operations.

Being successful in selling through eBay is an art and to master this art, the seller needs to adopt certain marketing techniques. Most of the new sellers remain confused about the ways to attract buyers, which is the main essence of marketing. Buyers are becoming more and cleverer and they are well familiar with the rule of Caveat Emptor. If you don’t know wise techniques to lure them, you can be out of the game.

I am discussing some useful marketing techniques that are necessary to attract eBay buyers. These are specialization in your niche, active participation in Groups and Discussions and offering free gifts to the customers.

Specialize in your Niche:

In order to attract buyers, you should specialise your niche. It does not mean that you sell only one kind of product but it means to choose a specific category in selection of a product. I have seen people selling car spare parts and women clothing side by side. These two categories are not alike which give buyer a big impression of confusion. He can think of you as unprofessional and an occasional seller and might not trust in you.

While on other hand if clothing suppliers specialise in their niche, buyer gets an impression that sellers are the professional ones irrespective of the fact if they sell children clothing or adults clothing. If you do want to sell other lines then the simple solution is to have another ID on eBay as it allows multiple IDs and multiple product listings. So specialization gives potential buyers a positive impression, which can increase their sales.

Participation in Groups and Discussions:

Remember! Imparting valuable knowledge to others can boost your reputation in the eyes of the buyers. When you participate in groups and discussions and answer questions and give replies to discussions, your reputation on eBay gradually boosts. Almost all eBay buyers and sellers ask questions on community forums and help each other by resolving problems or confusions of one another. This would make you an honest and helping person and they will surely love to deal with you.

Offer Freebies:

Offering freebies to buyers make them happy and they just love it. Offering freebies does not mean that you have to give buyers huge gifts or offers that are special. There are many booksellers who often include a paper back book or there are many clothing suppliers who include fancy napkins and stuff like that as free gifts. The idea of free gifts is to make buyers happy and make sure that they get more than what they expect from you. This ultimately changes the buyers’ perception and your business gets more customers coming back to you for more.
